That commercial job on Elm Street changed my mind about plastic boxes
I used to swear by metal boxes for everything, thought plastic was just for cheap resi work. Then I did a 40-unit apartment complex on Elm Street last summer where we had to pull wire through 200+ plastic junction boxes. I figured we'd have a ton of failures but we had zero issues the whole job. Anyone else find plastic boxes hold up better than they expected in commercial settings?

Gotta disagree here man. I've had plastic boxes crack at the screw holes when tightening down devices, especially in colder weather. And those nail on plastic boxes for commercial work? Had a whole batch where the tabs broke off before we even got the device in. Metal just feels more solid when you're doing a big job.

What about the ground path though? With plastic boxes, you're totally reliant on the device yoke and that little jumper wire to ground everything. Metal boxes tie the whole circuit together through the conduit or cable clamp, way less chance of a floating ground in a retrofit.
