Used to just tape up any old way for labeling circuits, but after a screwup on a commercial job in Chicago last spring where we spent 3 hours tracing one mislabeled breaker, I switched to a Brady labeler and color coded every panel now, anyone else do something that specific or am I overthinking it?
I mean I finally learned the hard way after my foreman ripped me a new one over that mess, so now each wire gets a printed label before I even pull it through the conduit, what's your go-to system for keeping panels straight?

Man, I feel that... three hours on one mislabeled breaker is a nightmare. I had a similar deal on a service call where the panel looked fine but the living room lights were somehow on the water heater circuit. Switched to printing labels with the panel number and breaker position on every wire now, no more guessing games. It's worth the extra time upfront when you think about how long tracing takes when you mess it up.

Nah, I kinda like the mystery hunt now. Keeps things interesting, you know?
