Had a controller board fail on a MCE elevator in a Chicago high-rise last Thursday

I was troubleshooting a MCE iBox controller on the 14th floor of the Prudential building, and the main board just gave up mid-test. No error codes, no nothing. Has anyone here swapped one of these boards out before for a new MCE part, or is it better to just call their tech support line? I'm trying to avoid a full week of downtime for the tenants.

Have you checked if the new MCE boards still use those same ribbon cable connectors? @kelly.dylan might've run into that issue, I remember someone mentioning those connectors felt cheaper on the newer ones. The whole thing was a pain to seat properly on the last one I saw.

Swapped one out a couple years back on a similar deal, and honestly it's like every other piece of tech these days - the new stuff craps out way faster than the old.

And it's not just tech, seems like everything's designed to give up after a couple years now. Bought a toaster last year that felt flimsy right out of the box, completely different from the one my parents had for decades. They're just not built to last anymore, no matter what you're getting.
