I finally snapped at a contractor who kept messing with the elevator panel

Last Tuesday in downtown Cleveland I had a contractor from a remodeling crew try to jam a crowbar into the control panel on a Otis Gen2. I told him THREE times to stop, but he just kept saying he needed to run a cable through there. He ended up shorting out the door limit switch and now I gotta replace it. Has anyone else dealt with contractors who think they know elevators better than the mechanics?
