Learned a hard lesson about door lock adjustments at a hospital in Cleveland

I was working on a 2000 Otis in an old hospital wing, and the doors kept faulting out after every third run. Spent two hours tracing wires before a nurse pointed out the door gap was off by maybe 3/16 of an inch on the bottom. Now I always check mechanical adjustment first before touching the controller. Anyone else get burned by chasing phantom electrical issues that turned out to be a simple misalignment?

That "door gap was off by maybe 3/16 of an inch" line hit close to home... I once spent a whole day swapping boards on a Mowgli only to find a worn door hanger roller was the issue. Nothing like blaming the computer for your own mechanical oversight.

Pulled the bearings out of a few rollers before realizing the same thing.
