Pro tip: I used to fight with every single door operator adjustment by hand

Back in 2010, working on those old Dover units in the First National building, I'd spend an hour with a feeler gauge and a hex key trying to get the sync just right. Now I carry a Fluke 902 and check the voltage at the motor leads first, which shows you the real problem in about two minutes. Anyone else find that starting with the meter saves a ton of headache on door calls?

Ever think you had to start with the mechanical side? I was the same until a voltage check showed me the real issue.

Oh man, that hits home. I spent a whole weekend taking apart a motor mount, convinced it was a bearing issue. My hands were filthy and I was so annoyed. Then I finally plugged in the multimeter and saw the wild voltage drop from a bad connection. Felt like a total fool for not checking the simple stuff first. You ever get so stuck on the hard fix that you miss the easy check?
