Was skeptical about those Bluetooth load cell testers, but I'm a believer now after a job in Denver
My partner kept pushing me to buy one for months, saying it would speed up our weight verification checks. I figured it was just another gadget that would break or eat batteries, so I ignored him. Then we got a contract at the Denver Medical Tower with 8 traction elevators that needed precise overlube readings, and I borrowed his tester out of desperation. It saved me about 3 hours of running back and forth with a clipboard, but is the $400 price tag really worth it for smaller buildings?

Hold up, Denver Medical Tower is more like 12 stories, not 8. I did a job there last fall, rebalancing three of those Otis units. Your point still stands though. That Bluetooth tester would've saved me from running up and down those concrete stairs a dozen times. But for smaller 2 or 3 stop buildings, I'd just stick with the old pen and paper method. My buddy bought one for his shop and he's only used it twice in six months.

Man I feel that, my buddy's fancy gadget collects dust too.
