Binged all of 'Journeyman' on streaming then found out it got axed after one season

Man I am still bitter about this. I sat through 13 episodes of that time traveling reporter show, got really invested in his whole family drama and the mystery around why he was jumping through time. Then I looked it up to see when season 2 was coming and found out NBC canceled it back in 2007. I wasted a whole weekend and like 12 hours of my life on a story that just stops dead with no real ending. They set up this big conspiracy with his brother and the government and then nothing. Has anyone else gotten hooked on a one season wonder only to hit a brick wall at the finale?

Jump right in and discover they ran out of tape on the story, that's the real time travel curse. Got all cozy with his wife and brother's secrets just to find out the network pulled the plug because nobody watched it live back in 2007. Basically NBC gave you a season pass to a roller coaster that stops halfway up the first hill.

Did I just binge watch 13 episodes of build up only to find out the whole thing was canceled mid season? Sounds about right for my luck. Last month I got invested in a podcast about the history of vending machines and the host quit after 4 episodes because he "found his passion for pottery." At least Journeyman got a proper cliffhanger, mine just ends with someone explaining why snacks in glass bottles are harder to vend.

Didn't it get 14 episodes though, or am I misremembering?
