My Firefly box set got passed around my whole dorm floor. The discs were so scratched by senior year you had to skip the third episode.

Had a friend who bought the Buffy box set from a guy selling bootlegs out of his car. You could hear him coughing on some scenes. Still got passed around the whole floor.
