Funding that 'Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles' fan sequel felt shady

After Fox canceled it, a group tried to crowdfund a wrap-up movie. I backed the project, but later worried about legal gray areas. Do fan-funded endings ever sit right with you?

Well, I gotta disagree on this one! Fan-funded endings are a cool way for communities to fix bad network choices. Legal stuff is fuzzy, but most times it's just fans loving a story too much to let go. I threw money at a 'Veronica Mars' fan film years ago and never regretted it. These projects might not be perfect, but they come from a real place of care for the characters. Plus, they often push studios to listen to what fans actually want.

But does everyone feel okay spending cash on unofficial endings, @michaeljones?

But is a fan film really worth getting lawyers involved?
