Had to choose between rewatching Freaks and Geeks or finishing that sci-fi show deleted after one season

I was gonna rewatch Freaks and Geeks for the third time but I found this show called The Event that got yanked after 22 episodes. Gave it a shot and man, it hooked me with the twisty plot but left everything hanging. Anybody else find a buried show that had way more potential than the stuff that got renewed?

Oh Brisco County Jr. was a GEM. I remember my dad renting it from Blockbuster when I was a kid and we watched the whole thing in one weekend. That show had Bruce Campbell at his campiest and the whole ghost train thing still haunts me. Speaking of dead shows, did anyone catch that one season of The Middleman on ABC Family? It was this cheesy comic book show about a girl who becomes a monster fighter and it had the most charming low budget sets ever. One day someone will cancel something I love and I'll just stop watching TV forever.

I loved that show so much, it was like someone took a comic book and just filmed it in their garage with love. @the_betty you're totally right about Brisco County Jr. being a gem, that ghost train episode stuck with me too. Its so frustrating when these little shows get canceled right when they start getting good, like you can see the potential but the network just pulls the plug. I swear every time I find a new weird show I get nervous, like I'm just waiting for the cancellation news. It almost makes me want to stick to stuff with like ten seasons already out just to be safe, but then I'd miss out on the weird fun one season wonders.

Oh man, have you ever caught The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr.? It got that one season in the 90s with Bruce Campbell and it was this weird western with sci-fi gadgets and a big mystery box plot that never got resolved. I found it on streaming and binged it in two days, then just sat there staring at the screen like... that's it? It had that same magic as Freaks and Geeks where you could tell the creators had like five seasons planned out. The Event was solid too, I remember catching a few episodes when it aired, the whole amnesia angle kept me guessing but then poof gone. Something about a show getting killed right when it finds its groove just stings way worse than a show that limps through five seasons ya know.
