Had to pick between the new Thursday night show or rewatching Mindhunter for the third time

I was really torn last month when Netflix announced that new crime drama. On one hand I've been dying for something fresh to get into, on the other hand I still can't get over Mindhunter getting canceled after season 2. That show deserved at least 4 more seasons with how deep they were getting into the BTK storyline. I ended up picking the new show and it was fine I guess, but two episodes in I kept thinking about how Mindhunter would have handled the same material better. Now I'm just sitting here wondering if anyone else found themselves going back to old canceled shows instead of trying new content. What shows have you rewatched because nothing new hits the same way?

Got back into The Americans last month for the exact same reason, that show held up way better than I remembered and made me realize most new streaming stuff just doesn't have the same patience with character building.

Wait, are we admitting old shows just did it better now? I swear half these new series feel like they're speedrunning character development so they can get to the plot twists... Kinda miss when a show let you just sit in the awkward silence for a minute.
