My brother argued 'The OA' was too weird to continue, but that's exactly why it needed more seasons.

He said 'nobody wants to watch interpretive dance save the multiverse' over coffee, and honestly, that's the show's whole charm. What canceled show's weirdness did you actually love?

Yeah, the "interpretive dance save the multiverse" line is perfect. It's like people get mad when a show actually tries something new instead of giving them the same old thing. I see it all the time, not just with TV. Anything that's a little different gets called "too weird" until it's gone, and then everyone misses it.

Remember when Hannibal served a guy his own leg? That show's beautiful weirdness was its whole point.

The older I get, the more I notice people wanting everything packaged neat and safe. Real life is full of odd, uncomfortable moments, and good art should reflect that. Hannibal leaned into the messiness and that's why folks still talk about it a decade later.
