My brother said 'Firefly' would change my mind about space shows

He lent me his box set last month and insisted I watch the whole thing in order. I finished the single season and movie in a week, and now I'm just mad there isn't more. I really wanted to see what happened with Shepherd Book's past and the Alliance. Anyone else still annoyed about this one?

Wasn't there a comic book that tried to explain Book's backstory? I remember reading something about it a while back. They said he was some kind of high-up Alliance operative who faked his death. It just made me more annoyed they never filmed it. All those unfinished threads, like what the heck were those two blue-handed guys really about? Getting the full story in a comic isn't the same.

Ugh, yes, that comic! It was called "The Shepherd's Tale" I think. So they gave us this whole backstory about him being an Alliance spy after the show was done, and it just feels like such a cop out. What's the point of hiding his past so hard in the show if they were just gonna dump it in a book later? Makes me wonder if they had any real plan for those blue guys at all.
