My cousin the bartender made me rethink why I still watch canceled shows

I was complaining to my cousin Dave at his bar in Chicago about how I still rewatch Freaks and Geeks every year and he said 'you're not mourning the show, you're mourning the potential of what it could have been.' That hit different because he's right, I keep imagining those 5 more seasons that never happened. Has anyone else realized they're stuck on the idea of a show instead of what we actually got?

My friend Jenna still talks about how Firefly would have changed TV forever if it got more seasons. She once made a whole PowerPoint presentation about what season 2 would have looked like. I just nod and hand her another drink.
