That time my buddy swore 'The Finder' was gonna get picked up for 5 seasons

Back in 2012 my friend Mike kept telling me Fox was gonna renew The Finder after that Bones backdoor pilot. I told him no way, the ratings were too low and it was too weird for network TV. He was dead sure they'd give it a full season 2 at least after the finale hooked people. Ngl I almost believed him when the DVD sales came in stronger than expected. Then Fox pulled the plug after 13 episodes and Mike still brings it up at cookouts. Anyone else have a friend who was way too optimistic about a show's chances?

Oh man, that's totally my brother-in-law with literally every sci-fi show that barely lasts a season. Tbh he was convinced Terra Nova was gonna be the next Lost and I'm still hearing about how Fox "didn't give it a chance" at Thanksgiving dinner. Honestly some people just get attached and refuse to see the writing on the wall even when the numbers are right there.

Wait, is your buddy Mike my buddy Dave? He did the same exact thing with Terra Nova, swore up and down it was gonna get a second season and Fox just didn't "get it". I still get a text every time someone mentions dinosaurs on TV, it's exhausting but kinda funny too.
