Warning: The OA got canceled after just 2 seasons and I'm still not over it

I watched season 1 in 2016 and season 2 in 2019 and the jump in scope was insane, they were clearly building to something huge with the whole multiverse thing... then Netflix just axed it with zero warning. Anyone else think the writers had like 3 more seasons planned based on all those unanswered questions from the finale?

read somewhere that the OA creators actually had a 5 season plan mapped out from day one. the season 2 cliffhanger with brit marling's character waking up in our dimension felt like the start of that journey. netflix really dropped the ball on that one, especially after how much critical buzz it got. i remember seeing fans campaining hard online with that #SaveTheOA movement but nothing worked. such a shame cause the dance stuff was so weird but so iconic at the same time.

Wait, you mean getting emotionally invested in a Netflix show is supposed to pay off? I still have trust issues from them axing The OA, and honestly I'm side-eyeing @the_kevin for reminding me about that five season plan because now I'm mad all over again. That cliffhanger with the school shooting dance sequence had me pacing around my living room like an idiot, and then Netflix just said "lol you thought." The multiverse stuff was getting so wild, I was actually convinced Brit Marling was about to unlock some secret dimension where TV shows actually get endings.
