Found a dumb trick for getting repeat customers without spending a dollar on ads

I was losing my mind trying to get local coffee shops in Austin to come back after one order. So I started hand-writing a thank you note with every shipment, nothing fancy just a sentence. Three months later my repeat rate jumped from 12% to 35%. Has anyone else tried something this low effort and seen it work?
