Found a local meetup beat the $400 online course I bought

Signed up for that big online networking course everyone raves about, cost me $400. Spent 3 weeks going through the modules and honestly felt like it was just common sense wrapped in fancy slides. Then a buddy dragged me to a small local meetup at a coffee shop in Austin, 12 people, no agenda. We just talked about who needs what, and I landed 2 referrals that week. The course had zero real conversations. Learned that the actual value is in showing up and talking, not watching videos. Anyone else find similar results with free meetups over paid programs?

and honestly that’s how EVERYTHING works now. People pay for the “system” but forget the whole point is just talking to other humans. I’ve seen it with gym classes too, the free morning run group gets me more motivated than any fancy app subscription ever did. Real talk beats pretty packaging every single time.
