Wait, 20 minutes is way too long to listen to a pitch for anything, but isn't that kind of the point of going to a coffee shop alone? Half the people there are just trying to avoid small talk or work, so getting cornered like that sounds brutal. Did you at least fake a phone call to get out of it or were you trying to be polite?

Best way to get out is say "oh sorry my boss is calling" and walk straight to the bathroom.
