I finally took that 'just cold email everyone' advice and it backfired hard
So about 6 months ago, a guy named Mark from a local meetup in Austin told me I should just blast cold emails to every investor I could find. He said it was a numbers game and I needed to send at least 200 to get 5 replies. I spent a whole weekend writing a generic template and sent it to 250 people on LinkedIn and Crunchbase. Honestly, I got maybe 2 replies and both were polite no's. One guy actually replied saying my email felt like spam and to try reaching out more personally. I wasted probably 20 hours on that whole thing and got nothing. Looking back, I should have focused on building real connections first instead of treating it like a lottery. Has anyone else gotten terrible advice like that from someone who seemed successful?

Yeah spammy shortcuts never work out how people think they will.

Oh man, @alex_taylor10 you nailed it. A buddy of mine tried one of those "get rich quick" crypto trading bots and ended up losing his whole weekend trying to fix the mess it made on his account.
