I finally tried that local networking group I avoided for a year

There's a small entrepreneur meetup in Tulsa that meets every Tuesday morning, and I kept skipping it thinking it would be all sales pitches and hype. Went last week on a whim and ended up getting a solid lead on a commercial pressure washing contract worth about $1,800. Has anyone else been surprised by a local group they almost wrote off?

Walked into one thinking it was just coffee and left with my biggest job that year.

Thought I'd hate it too honestly. Walked into one of those chamber mixer things and figured I'd just grab a free coffee and leave. Ended up with a landscaping referral that paid for three months of my rent.
