I thought all those 'mastermind' groups were just a way to sell overpriced coffee, but joining one in Austin last month actually helped me land a new client.

Patking said the good ones are all about real connection. That's part of it, but it's more like a work group. The one I'm in makes you show up with a real business problem each month. Then everyone picks it apart and tells you what you're missing. It's not just making friends. It's getting a bunch of other business owners to point out the obvious thing you're too close to see. That's what helped me, not just the networking.

Landing a new client" is the part that makes it worth it. I heard the good ones are all about that real connection, not just the coffee.

So what did the group actually do to make that happen? Was it a direct intro from someone there, or did you get some advice on your pitch that finally clicked?
