My referral network just hit 50 people, which felt impossible a year ago

It happened because I started going to one specific meetup in Cincinnati every month without fail. Has anyone else seen a big jump after committing to a single, consistent event?

Totally get this. I did the same thing with my local business owners breakfast. Just kept showing up, month after month. It wasn't about collecting cards, just being there. @jennyh55 is right, that reliability is everything. After about six months, the real referrals started flowing because people actually knew me.

Honestly, that's so true. I see it with my kid's soccer team. The parents who show up to every single practice and game are the ones who end up building the real carpool and babysitting network. It's not about doing everything, it's just about being the reliable person in one spot. That regular face becomes a familiar friend, and then the trust builds from there. Your story is a perfect example of that.
