Realized my networking was all surface level after a talk at a Chamber meeting in Phoenix

Last month I went to a Chamber of Commerce breakfast in Phoenix thinking I’d swap cards and get leads like usual. But a guy named Tom sat down and asked me about my biggest bottleneck, not my elevator pitch. For 15 minutes we dug into real problems instead of the usual small talk. Has anyone else found that skipping the schmooze and going straight to specific challenges actually builds better connections?

Did that totally change how you approach networking now? Same thing happened to me at a coffee shop meetup.

RIGHT? Those informal ones are way more REAL.
