Unpopular opinion: that "networking" coffee meetup was a total waste of my Tuesday
I sat down with a guy named Mark from a local startup incubator. He spent the first 20 minutes scrolling his phone and then asked me for a favor. Not even an intro, just straight to "can you introduce me to your investors?" I drove 30 minutes to that coffee shop near Union Station for this. Anyone else feel like these casual meetups are just disguised asks these days?

Wow, wait, he seriously scrolled his phone for 20 minutes before even talking to you? That's just rude, and I'm honestly shocked you stayed that long. I would have just gotten up and left after five minutes of that nonsense. These "casual" meetups are almost always just people fishing for favors without offering anything back. It's like they think your time doesn't matter at all.

@blake_cooper maybe the guy was just nervous and didn't know how to start.
