Vent: Trusted a networking contact and it blew up in my face
I met this guy at a co-working space mixer last year who said he could help scale my small biz. We hit it off, and I introduced him to my main supplier, thinking he was legit. But then he started dealing directly with them and cut me out of the loop. I mean, idk, maybe I was too naive, but it cost me a key partnership. Now I'm way more careful about who I bring into my circle. Has anyone dealt with something similar? How do you vet people in networking spots without seeming paranoid?

Been there? A so-called mentor stole my client list once.

Nothing like a "so-called mentor" to teach you trust issues, right @michaeljones?
