Visited a co-working space in Austin and saw zero networking happening

I went to WeWork on Congress Ave last Tuesday for a free trial day. Walked in expecting people to be talking, sharing ideas, maybe swapping business cards over coffee. Instead I saw like 40 people with noise-cancelling headphones on, staring at screens. Nobody even looked up when I walked past. What's the point of paying for shared space if you're just isolating yourself? Has anyone actually made a real connection in a co-working spot or is it just expensive solitude?

Why do people even PAY for this? I went to a spot in Dallas once and it was the SAME deal. Everyone in their own bubble like they're in a LIBRARY. The whole point is to meet people, right? But nope, just a bunch of folks hiding behind screens with their headphones on. Made zero connections. It's basically expensive solitude with better coffee.

Hit WeWork in Denver once and someone literally put a "Do Not Disturb" sign on their monitor like it was a hotel room. So much for "community" right?
