Why does nobody talk about how bad networking apps can kill your time
I spent 3 weeks on Shapr and Bumble Bizz last month trying to find solid connections in Austin and got nada but spam from people selling dropshipping courses. Most convos died after two messages or turned into a sales pitch for some MLM scheme. Anyone actually land a real deal through one of these things or is it just me?

I used to think networking apps were the future honestly. I was on a few for months thinking I just had to put in more time to see results. But after reading your post it clicked for me that I was just wasting hours scrolling through profiles and sending messages that went nowhere. The whole thing feels like a numbers game where everyone is trying to sell you something instead of actually connecting. I ended up deleting them all last week and I feel like I got my time back. The only real connections I ever made were through actual meetups or mutual friends, not through some app.

You said "numbers game" and that's exactly what it is. I had a buddy who spent six months on one of those apps, messaging like fifty people a week, and the only job offer he got was from a guy trying to sell him on a pyramid scheme. He finally landed a real gig because his cousin mentioned him to a boss at a cookout, no app required.
