Why does nobody talk about the weird vibe at the Denver startup mixer last Thursday?

I went to that big networking event at the co-working space on Larimer Street, and it felt like everyone was just handing out cards without actually talking. I met a guy who said he'd 'circle back' three times in five minutes. So, do you think forced networking events are still worth the time, or is it better to just meet people one on one?

Maybe @gonzalez.vera is right about meeting more people, but the real value is spotting who you'd actually want a real coffee with later.

Ugh, but you still meet way more people in an hour than you would on your own.
