A client asked me why I was wearing gloves during a facial and it caught me off guard

She said she felt like I was keeping her at arm's length, but I explained it's about hygiene and product absorption. Has anyone else had to explain basic sanitation to a regular client?

Honestly, I kind of see it from the client's side here. Wearing gloves for a facial can feel a little cold and impersonal, even if it's totally about hygiene. Ngl, I think a lot of estheticians skip gloves for that exact reason, because touch is a big part of the relaxation. Maybe you could explain it more gently, like "I just want to keep everything super clean for you," instead of making it sound like they're dirty or something. Tbh, if I was a regular client and didn't know the reason, I'd probably feel a bit weirded out too.

Gloves keep product and bacteria off your hands, so it's way more hygienic.
