Had to decide between microdermabrasion and a chemical peel for my own skin last week

I went with the chemical peel because I read it's better for texture, but my face peeled way more than I expected and now I'm wondering if microdermabrasion would have been gentler, has anyone else made this choice?

I used to think microdermabrasion was weaker but after seeing how much my face peeled from the chemical peel I changed my mind.

Oh man, your experience with the chemical peel sounds intense! I actually had a similar thing happen - tried a light one at home and my skin looked like a snake shedding for a week. It was wild. For me, the peeling meant it was working, but I learned the hard way that more peeling doesn't always mean better results. I started doing gentler exfoliation like lactic acid peels instead, and my skin calmed down a lot. Your mileage may vary, but that's what worked for me.
