Had to pick between a LED light therapy mask or a basic red light panel for my studio

I was setting up my little esthetics room in Portland last spring and needed to offer LED treatments but had a tight budget. I went with a cheap handheld red light panel instead of the $300 mask because I could treat more areas at once. Has anyone else found that the cheaper panels actually work just as well as the fancy branded devices?

Keep it real though, are we really expecting a face mask to do more than a basic panel when the wavelengths are the same? Most of the cheap panels I've tested put out enough power to make my skin feel warm, and the expensive ones just have prettier packaging. If you're treating clients in a studio, a panel lets you hit their whole face at once instead of playing peek-a-boo with a mask.

Man, are we really out here comparing masks to panels like it's some kind of high tech showdown? I get what you're saying though, I borrowed a friend's "designer" mask once and it basically felt like a weak flashlight strapped to my face. The panel I built from random eBay parts for like 60 bucks covered my whole face and actually made my skin feel tight the next day. All that extra money just buys you a nicer way to wait for results.
