I used to double-cleanse every client no matter what - now I skip it for dry skin types
For two years I was all about that oil then gel cleanse on everyone, but after a 45 year old client in Phoenix told me her face felt tight after every facial I started paying attention. Switched to a single cream cleanse for dehydrated clients about 6 months ago and their post-facial glow is way better. Anyone else ditch the double cleanse for certain skin types?

Phoenix in summer? That dry air is brutal, are you sure it wasn't the humidity level?

Right? The way people say "but it's a dry heat" like that somehow changes everything always gets me. My own hair turned into a tumbleweed after three days there, I swear it's still finding its way back home. Pretty sure I walked outside once and felt like a raisin in a microwave, so maybe the humidity wasn't the issue at all. Could've been the fact that my internal engine was basically screaming for mercy though. That kind of heat just hits different when you're not built for it.

I mean, I gotta disagree a little here. I actually live in the valley and the dry heat really does make a huge difference, especially for someone like me who came from Georgia originally. When I go back east in August I can't breathe for like two days because the air feels like soup. At least here when you're sweating it actually evaporates and cools you off instead of just sitting on your skin. I remember my first 115 degree day here and I was honestly fine standing in the shade. Meanwhile 95 in Atlanta with 90 percent humidity felt like I was being waterboarded.
