My clients with clear skin eat dairy every day

A lot of skin care pros push cutting out dairy for acne, but I don't buy it. In my years doing facials, I've met many people with perfect skin who enjoy milk and cheese. One woman came to me after six months dairy-free with no improvement. We changed her routine to better sleep and less worry, and her breakouts stopped. I believe we get too caught up in food fads. Stress and rest have a bigger impact on skin for most of my clients. We should advise based on the whole person, not just trends.

Honestly the part about advising based on the "whole person" really hits home. I was totally on the dairy-free bandwagon for my own skin until I fixed my stress levels. Now I see how fixating on one food group misses the bigger picture.

Like @jordanc20 said, stress is big but dairy can still mess with some folks.

A recent article linked stress to skin problems more than dairy ever did.
