My steamer's thermostat crapped out mid-facial last Thursday
It started blowing pure steam and I had to unplug it fast. I'm debating if I should pay $150 for the repair kit or just invest in a whole new unit. What would you guys do when a key piece of gear fails like that?

It's wild how our stuff seems to break right when we need it most. Would you trust the same model again after that?

Oh totally @willow_martin, that's exactly my luck too. My dryer quit right before a family gathering last Thanksgiving, I was furiously hanging wet clothes like a maniac. Nah, I wouldn't buy the same model again, once bitten twice shy and all that.

Oh man, that's the story of my life. I'd probably buy the same thing again out of sheer stubbornness, honestly. I'd convince myself it was a fluke and the next one would be fine. Then when it breaks again, I'd just be mad at past me for not learning the lesson. It's a terrible cycle.
