Rant: I was at a hotel spa in Scottsdale and the esthetician used the same microdermabrasion tip on me that she'd just used on the client before.

Honestly that's not just gross, it's a real health code violation. Those tips are supposed to be single use or go through a medical autoclave between clients. Using the same one can spread bacteria and even blood borne pathogens if the previous client had any micro tears. You should definitely report that to the spa manager, because that's how people get infections.

Read an article about this exact thing last year. They said even metal tips need proper cleaning with the right equipment, not just wiping them down. Cameron_harris20 is right about some places using metal ones, but that doesn't make it okay to skip real cleaning. Spreading germs that way is just asking for trouble, and clients would never know. People really should speak up when they see stuff like that.

Actually most spas use disposable tips for microderm, but some systems have metal ones they're supposed to sterilize. Still nasty if she didn't clean it right though.
