Shoutout to the esthetician who told me to switch from gel to cream cleansers for dry skin
After six months of using a gel cleanser on my clients with dry skin and seeing them struggle with flaking, I tried a cream based one from a local supplier in Nashville and the difference in hydration retention was obvious within two weeks, so has anyone else found a cleanser type that just works better for certain skin types?

My first client with rosacea saw huge improvements when I swapped her from a foaming cleanser to a milky one, the redness calmed down after about ten days. For oily skin types I still stick with gel because it cuts through the excess sebum without stripping moisture. Cream formulas are definitely the way to go for dry or compromised barriers, just make sure you're double cleansing if you wear sunscreen.

A dermatologist I follow on YouTube said something similar. He claimed foaming cleansers can mess with the skin's pH balance, especially for rosacea. That makes sense, given how sensitive their skin is. No wonder @dakota_murphy90 saw results after ten days. I've heard the same thing about gel cleansers for oily skin, keeps the barrier intact. Cream formulas are my go-to in winter, double cleansing is a must though with sunscreen.
