Unpopular opinion: Growing your own aloe is the best hack for calm skin
I started growing aloe vera as a hobby (it's super easy, really). Now, I use fresh gel from my plants for after-sun treatments on clients. It works way better than store-bought stuff because it's pure and has no additives. Just snip a leaf, squeeze out the gel, and apply it cool from the fridge.

Fresh aloe can actually make some skin issues worse. For people with plant allergies or really sensitive skin, the raw gel straight from the leaf can cause redness or itchiness. It’s not a universal fix, you know? Doing a small patch test on your arm first is a smarter move than just slapping it on your face.

Come on, most people are totally fine with it (allergies to aloe are pretty rare honestly). Patch tests are kind of overkill for something this basic and natural. The fresh stuff just works better, end of story.
