I found a way to get my neighbor's packages delivered to me when they're out of town, but now I'm wondering if it's actually okay.

Oh man, that's a slippery slope. I once watered a neighbor's plants and ended up with a key to their house, which is way too much power for me. You should probably just ask them first.

Honestly that key sounds like a vote of confidence, not a burden. Sometimes people are just bad at asking for help directly, and a small favor lets them know you're trustworthy. Jumping straight to a formal ask can make a simple thing feel like a big deal. Letting it happen naturally builds way better community ties.

My neighbor gave me a key after I fed their cat for a week. It wasn't a slippery slope, it was just trust. They needed someone reliable and I was already there helping. Asking first is good, but sometimes the favor comes before the formal request. That key just meant they didn't have to worry while they were gone. It felt like a normal part of looking out for each other.
