Just realized I was always double rinsing my dishes wrong
Growing up my mom always taught me to rinse with hot water after the soap, so I did that for like 15 years straight. Last month my buddy Dave was over helping with dishes and asked why I was wasting water. Turns out if you use the right amount of soap you don't need a second rinse at all, just let it air dry. Has anyone else discovered a simple habit they've been doing backwards their whole life?

Wait so I've been double rinsing clean dishes my whole life for nothing?

Oh man, don't feel bad - I used to scrub my plates with soap, rinse them, then scrub them AGAIN with more soap because I thought it was "extra clean." Turns out I was just wasting dish soap and making my sponge smell weird. We all have those kitchen habits we do on autopilot for years before realizing it's completely pointless. At least now we can save some water and elbow grease!
