My friend in Chicago told me to always ask for a receipt at the farmer's market

I didn't for a $12 jar of honey, and the seller later claimed I never paid. Has anyone else had a small trust issue turn into a real problem like that?

That's rough, but it's more about proof than trust. A receipt is just a record. Had a similar thing happen with a parking lot attendant once. Paid cash, no ticket, got a fine later. Now I always get something in writing, even a quick text confirmation. It's not personal, it's just covering your bases.

Yeah, learned that the hard way with a tow truck guy.

What did you end up doing about the honey? After a flea market mix-up, I started taking a quick photo of the item with the cash in the seller's hand. It sounds silly but that picture saved me TWICE.
