My thrifted blender lid flew off at 6 AM yesterday
Was making a smoothie before work and the lid shot across the kitchen, splattering banana and kale all over my white cabinets. How do you even decide when to toss cheap kitchen stuff vs keep using it until it literally explodes?

Read somewhere that cheap blenders have like a 50% failure rate with the lid after a year. The plastic gets brittle from the cold and the spinning. Personally I toss anything that already gave me a scare like that. The cleanup alone costs more time than a new blender is worth.

My cheap blender lid cracked on day 2 lol. I was just making a smoothie and suddenly had frozen berry chunks flying across the kitchen. Honestly I think the cleanup from that disaster cost me more sanity than the blender was worth.
