Rant: Spent 45 minutes trying to refund a duplicate app purchase on my phone
I accidentally bought the same photo editing app twice because the store glitched out. Called my bank first, they said talk to the app store. App store support told me to contact the developer. Developer said it's the store's problem. Three way call? Not possible. Ended up just eating the $7.99 because nobody would take responsibility. Has anyone actually managed to get a refund for a double charge without it taking a week?

Saw a thread on Reddit where someone said filing a chargeback with your bank is the only way to make these companies actually respond. Apparently once the bank flags it, the app store suddenly finds a way to refund you real quick. Heard another person say they just kept submitting support tickets with screenshots every day until someone caved, took them about 3 days. I got double charged for a game once and just gave up after an hour of back and forth, really not worth the headache for eight bucks.

Man I totally feel your pain on this one! I was watching this tech YouTuber the other day who actually talked about this exact situation, said the app stores basically bank on people giving up because it's cheaper for them than fixing their broken refund systems. They mentioned that if you do a chargeback through your bank, the store will eventually refund you just to avoid the fees from the credit card companies, but it might get your account flagged or banned if you do it too much. That whole runaround you got with the bank telling you one thing and the store saying another is exactly what they count on to make you throw in the towel. For me personally, I'd probably just take the loss on eight bucks too because 45 minutes of my time is worth more than that, but it still burns me up knowing they're getting away with it.
