Unpopular opinion: I used to grab a plastic water bottle every day at lunch
Back in March I switched to a metal one after seeing a coworker fill hers at the cooler every day for a month. Now I just refill it twice and save about $1.50 each day. Has anyone else made a similar swap for the planet or your wallet?

@adams.henry you hit the nail on the head with that stale chips comparison. It's wild how we just accept certain habits until someone shows us a better way. The savings really add up too. I did the math and over a year that's over $500 just from buying water bottles at lunch. That's a whole trip to the grocery store or a nice dinner out. Have you noticed your metal bottle keeps water colder longer too?

Wait, you used to grab a plastic water bottle EVERY DAY at lunch? That's wild to me, honestly. I mean, I knew people did that, but hearing it out loud like that just hit different (like realizing you've been eating stale chips for years). I switched to a metal one last summer after I realized I was spending like $40 a month on those disposable ones. Now I just fill it up at the water cooler and feel like a genius every time I pass the vending machine.
