Vent: My neighbor's package sat on my porch for two days and I didn't know what to do

A box for the guy next door got delivered to my house by mistake on Monday. It's now Wednesday and it's still sitting there. I know his name, but we've never really talked. Part of me thinks I should just take it over, but I also feel weird handling his stuff. I left a note on my door for the delivery person yesterday, but they didn't take it back. Is it my job to fix this, or should I just leave it and let him figure it out? What's the right move here?

Yeah just take it over, it's the neighborly thing to do. He's probably wondering where his stuff is, and it takes two seconds. Worst case, you have a quick awkward chat and it's done.

Wait, are you sure the package even belongs to your neighbor? I mean, if a delivery driver left it at the wrong house, it could be the driver's mistake and the package might be for a different person entirely. I've seen delivery people just drop stuff off wherever it fits, not actually checking the address. Maybe check the label carefully to see if it's actually his name or just something that was shoved onto your porch because the driver was lazy. If it's not even for him, you'd be giving him some rando's package and that's just weird. Plus, leaving it another day or two means he's either not expecting it or doesn't care, so I wouldn't stress about it.
