Vent: Overheard a neighbor bragging about returning a worn out rug to Costco
Was at my apartment mailboxes yesterday and heard a guy say he bought a rug from Costco 2 years ago, used it until it frayed, then returned it for a full refund. He was laughing about it like it was a smart life hack. It stuck with me all day because that's not a hack, it's just abusing a policy that keeps prices higher for everyone else who pays fair. Has anyone else had to bite their tongue when someone brags about stuff like that?

Did you ever see that guy on youtube who returned a half eaten bag of chips to Walmart? Same kind of deal, people think they're gaming the system but they're just making things worse for the rest of us. I knew a guy who bragged about returning a Christmas tree in January every year, stripped of its needles and everything. He finally got banned from the store but acted like he was the victim. It's just embarrassing to watch someone think they're clever when they're really just taking advantage.
