Finally stopped scrubbing pans with steel wool after using a chainmail scrubber

I used to spend 20 minutes grinding away at burnt-on stuff with steel wool, scratching up my pans. Picked up a chainmail scrubber at a flea market for 8 bucks and it lifted everything off my cast iron in like 30 seconds. Has anyone else switched and noticed their pans lasting way longer?

Oh I heard some folks swear by those things for cast iron!

My buddy Mike swore by his chainmail scrubber for years and I just thought he was being a hipster with his cast iron stuff. Then I grabbed one at a yard sale for like 5 bucks and tried it on a pan I had soaking for two days. It wiped that black crust right off in one pass and I felt pretty dumb for waiting so long. Now I barely even use soap on my cast iron since the chainmail does all the work without stripping the seasoning. It really saves the surface compared to steel wool that just shreds the finish over time.
