Mine was the opposite situation. Had one that sounded like a jet engine taking off but barely moved any air. Pulled the cover off and found a massive clump of dust and lint built up over years. Couldn't believe how much junk was blocking the fan blades. Seriously disgusting stuff. Cleaned it all out and now it actually works quietly.

Found a video online where a guy tested his bathroom fan with a tissue before and after cleaning it. The tissue barely moved before, then after he cleaned everything it got sucked right up against the grill. Made me actually go check mine and I was shocked at how much dust was packed in there. Took a vacuum with a brush attachment and got all that gunk out. Now it actually pulls steam out of the bathroom instead of just making noise. Really wish I had seen that tutorial years ago.
