Put a binder clip on my desk lamp to hold my phone and it's been a game changer for video calls
I got tired of propping my phone against a coffee mug during Zoom meetings at my home desk. Grabbed a medium binder clip, clipped it to the edge of the lamp shade, and folded the metal handles out to cradle the phone. Works perfect for eye level shots and cost zero dollars since I had the clips already. Anyone else got a random office supply hack that actually works?

Oh man, I tried that and ended up with the binder clip flipping off my boss halfway through a call. Classic case of me being too clever for my own good. Now I just stack books under my monitor like a normal person who doesn't need a physics degree for video calls.

6 books and a half-eaten bag of Takis is my current setup, no complaints. Honestly, the binder clip thing sounds like you were asking for trouble. Who looks at a stack of office supplies and thinks "yeah this needs to be a Rube Goldberg machine"? Just keep it simple and let your boss think you're organized instead of a chaos gremlin.
